Purchasing an RV can be a difficult task. The average RV has so many different options to explore and make use of, that it can be tough to choose between the best RV for one’s special needs. However, there are certain things to keep in mind when RV shopping that can help narrow down the possibilities.

RV size is the first thing to consider, as it helps dictate what kind of vacation can be taken in them. Larger RVs will be more spacious and function better for longer vacations. Shorter ones are better for shorter vacations, or at the very least smaller families that don’t need as much space. For abnormally large families, the bigger RVs are mandatory for a proper vacationing experience.

One big decider in cost is the choice of having the RV have its own motor, or it being a towed RV only. Towed RVs will require that they be put in junction with a vehicle strong enough to tow a heavy amount of weight. RVs with motors in them will cost more, as they must allow for a powerful enough motor to be included to not only power the RV, but to also to tow vehicles behind it.

Different types of electronics and extras can be added for those who want more functionality at higher costs. Gaming and movie watching are two popular types of entertainment types that cost more, but allow for a better vacation when en route to the destination.

As far as the buying process goes, it’s best to shop around the best dealers so as to get competitive pricing. Visiting only one dealer will subject one to getting conned into a higher price. Mentioning to dealers that you are shopping around will compel them to offer a cheaper price and include more options or better repayment plans. Also keep an eye out for coupons, sales, and other specials that can reduce the price of an RV substantially.

Another good way to get a great deal is to buy the used RV. Buying a used RV can be a tricky task, and will require much test driving to ensure there are no problems with it. Try to get as much testing time in, as RVs have many aspects that need to be tested in order to make a final decision. It’s also possible to get a great deal over the Internet, where websites and auction resources commonly sell RVs for incredibly low prices.

In 1980 Volvo bought White after White’s bankruptcy filing. The Canadian assets were purchased by a consortium of two Alberta energy companies, and were renamed Western Star Trucks.

Throughout the 1980s, Volvo produced White and Autocar, as well as distributing European-made Volvo. The White high cabover engine model was also badged a Western Star and sold through that company’s Canadian dealer network.

In 1987, Volvo acquired the heavy-duty truck models of General Motors, and began marketing the WhiteGMC badge, although all of the legacy GMC product lines were discontinued by 1990.

In 1997 the WhiteGMC name was discontinued, and all models were badged either Volvo or Autocar. In 2000, the remaining Autocar products were discontinued, and the nameplate was retired (temporarily) after over 100 years.

In 2001 Volvo acquired Renault Vehicules Industriels, including Mack Trucks in the United States. In order to secure the approval of the authorities to proceed with the merger, Volvo had to agree to divest of its low-cab-forward (LCF) models, known as the Xpeditor range, due to the degree the combination of this product with the Mack MR and LE series dominated the refuse markets in which these vehicles are predominantly used.

In 2001, Volvo divested of the Xpeditor product and the rights to the Autocar trademark. The purchaser was Grand Vehicle Works LLC, a private equity venture based in Indiana that also produced stripped chassis for vans and recreational vehicles, and walk-in van bodies for parcel delivery service.

Today, Volvo produces Volvo and Mack class 8 truck models at plants in Dublin, VA, and Macungie, PA. Affiliate Volvo Powertrain produces engines and transmissions at its Hagerstown, MD, facility, for use exclusively in the North American market.

Pickup trucks, whose primary function is hauling cargo, are giving even the luxury cars a run for their money in terms of space and luxury. These trucks can be fitted with various accessories to make the drive comfortable and relaxing. Accessories, though not basic utility items without which the vehicle cannot run, certainly add zing to the vehicles. In fact, the use of accessories has helped pickup trucks move beyond their basic function or utility of hauling crude construction cargo, for which they were originally designed. They are, in fact, out to compete even with the luxury cars.

With the advantage of space, the accessories aim at providing the drivers and passengers with facilities that even luxury cars are unable to provide. Taking advantage of this consumer preference, the manufacturing companies are now coming up with cab style pickup trucks to appeal to a broader spectrum of buyers.

The variety of accessories available for both the interiors and exteriors of pickup trucks is simply mind-boggling. You can only admire the ingenuity and inventiveness of the manufacturers of these items to woo the customers. The list of exterior accessories includes air deflectors, awnings and tents with back-up warming devices, beds of various types with bed extenders, bed liners, bed rails, bed rugs, mats, organizers, tool boxes, towing accessories, and so on. The list of interior accessories is by no means small, and includes arm rests, dusters, driving gloves, sun shades, steering wheel covers, consoles, dash kits, dash mats, dash replacements, and door panels.

If you want to buy pickup truck accessories, the best course would be to log on to the Internet. This will save you the necessity of driving down to various showrooms in your area. You can browse through the accessories sites to get an idea of what is available and at what rates. You can compare the prices and get the best bargains.

Superchargers, lift kits, lowering kits, big wheels and tires, flamed paint jobs – when the Stylin’ Trucks build team gets its hands on a truck, you can be sure that it’s going to stand out! That’s always been the case in the past, and as the old saying goes, “history repeats itself.” This week we’ll start work on our first sweepstakes truck of 2006, a brand-spanking-new Ford F-150. And when we say “new,” we mean “base-model new.” Stylin’ Trucks has two warehouses full of truck accessories to take this off-the-shelf Ford to Stylin’ stardom.

This baby has factory sixteen-inch steel wheels and a stereo that won’t play our build team anthem CD, “Scorpions – Love at First Sting.” Do you know why it won’t play our CD? Because the truck has no CD player, but not for long! Before you know it, we’ll be rockin’ this truck like a hurricane!

It also has this silly pin stripe going down the side that says “Special Edition.” As we stood around glossy-eyed, thinking about the possibilities for this truck, someone said, “What’s so ‘special’ about it?” We guessed that it was probably the pin stripe. What’s more special than a vehicle that tells you how special it actually is? As you can probably guess, we’re losing the pin stripe.

Enough about the truck in its current, boring state; let’s discuss the future. Among many things planned, this week we’ll be lowering the truck. We can’t talk specifics yet (hey, this isn’t even an official announcement), but an inside source on the build team leaked that some Belltech boxes near the build area might have something to do with this truck. Also, an anonymous source told us that Mike the Mechanic received a call from LSD Doors and that some Lambo-style door hinges might be on the way. We’ll release more info as we have it.

Buying a new pickup truck can be very confusing. Of course you could go for a well known brand or manufacturer but still here are many options to consider.

Below are some guidelines that could point you in the right direction in buying a new truck.

The first thing that you should consider is size. Ask yourself just how big a pickup truck do you need? This shouldn’t be a very difficult decision for you to make. All you have to consult are your needs and your budget.

Keep in mind the price of a new pickup truck varies. It can range from the affordable (like buying an ordinary car) to the very expensive (like buying a luxury car). A good basic pickup truck can be owned for around $20,000 while a full sized fully loaded pickup truck an go for as much $30,000 or more.

Keep in mind one of the most important features of a pickup truck is its engine. So the engine should be a primary consideration when buying a pickup truck. Most pickup trucks will have a V6 engine. This type of engine consumes a fair amount of fuel depending on what you will be hauling or pulling. However, full sized pickup trucks usually have V8 engines that use up gas pretty fast. A diesel engine is recommended if you need lots of power for towing things around.

Another consideration is the number of people a pickup truck can carry. Would you be using the pickup truck to transport people? Then you would be better off buying an extended cab pickup truck which can carry 5 or more people. You could also get a crew cab which can be a very good replacement for a car and can also seat up to 5 individuals. But if you are basically using the pickup truck to tow and transport things, then you could just buy a regular cab pickup truck which can hold two to three individuals.

Determine the size of bed you will need. The bed is the part of the pickup truck used for transporting things. Pickup trucks usually are equipped with 6½ to 8 foot beds.

Look at the drive-train options. Pickup trucks come with either a manual or automatic transmission and you could choose between a two wheel driven or a four wheel driven pickup truck. Many pickup trucks offer limited-slip or locking differentials and electronic traction control.

Check the truck box configurations. Trucks come with different cargo box. Most have fairly straight exterior sides, with arched areas just inside the bed to accommodate the rear wheels. Many also have spaces in front and behind each arch so there’s more room to tuck shorter cargo. On the other hand, some pickup tucks have flared fenders to provide more storage space. This type of cargo box is called a step-side box.

The Internet is a very good source for new and used pickup trucks. There are many websites specially dedicated to automobiles and trucks. From there, you can get in touch with local dealers. And even read a review of the vehicles for sale. Using such website is very easy for both sellers and buyers. Using such websites can definitely save you time when buying a pickup truck. Most automotive websites serve as an online market place for cars and pickup trucks. Sellers post the vehicle they want to sell. Then a buyer can browse through it. When a buyer wants to buy a vehicle, the website puts him touch with the seller. And that’s it. They will even handle the transporting to your driveway.

Thinking of selling your car? You have two options: you can either sell it through a dealer who will make the transaction on your behalf or sell it personally. If you have the time and know-how, it is definitely wiser to opt for the second option.

The Benefits of  Car for Sale by Owner Strategy

Selling your car yourself has two very obvious benefits. First, you will be able to highlight the good features of your car to the prospective buyers. You can also answer all the prospective buyer’s questions more adequately and accurately than any dealer ever can. Nobody knows your car like you do.

Second, you will be able to save yourself an incredible amount of money that would have been your dealer’s commission. If, for example you sell a car for $15,000 through a dealer, the dealer will take at least three percent of the amount – that’s at least $450. There are even dealers whose commission rates go up to six percent. Instead of the dealer earning money from selling your car, why not take it for yourself? With a little extra effort and know-how, you can sell your car successfully on your own and pocket some extra money.

Some Tips Before Selling

Assess your car’s worth carefully before you determine its price. Take note of the mileage, external and internal damage, frequency of oil changes, and repair history.

Negotiating is the same as playing the game of poker; it is important that you do not show your emotions. The buyer can sense if you are desperate and may use it to try to buy a car for a very low price. Explain to the buyer how well you’ve taken care of your car, how good its condition still is, and how many years he or she can still use the car without problems. Be firm on your price, especially if you know that it is fair.

It’s time to get on the road, the Yamaha YZF-R125 2008 model introduced 12 days ago. Now it is time to grab the maximum fun out of life with the Yamaha YZF-R125. This radical, high-revving, fuel-injected 125 is the work of the same engineers who created our YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 supersport legends and is packed with MotoGP tech. The YZF-R125 is here to deliver stunning R-Series styling and exhilarating sports performance because life is a sport, to be enjoyed to the max.

The Yamaha YZF-R125 is smallest member of the R-series, with all aspects this bike including its engine and chassis technology feels like its a racer.

The Yamaha YZF-R125 is equipped with liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single cylinder, SOHC 124.66cc engine. The engine is a 52mm bore and 58.6mm stroke with a impressive 11.2:1 compression ratio.

Yamaha is using for the Yamaha YZF-R125 the new for all 2008 motorcycles electronic Fuel injection fuel system. And the ignition is don by TCI system.

We can also see changes in the gearbox of the Yamaha YZF-R125, the constant mesh, 6-speed transmission, with wet, multiple-disc coil spring clutch, feels like it want to go, it is clear that here some of the MotoGP technology was used. The final power transmission to the wheel is by good old chain and sprockets.

The chassis of the Yamaha is basic, it would be better if Yamaha did some more improvements on the frame. The complete stability of the steel deltabox frame is quite good and overall road handling is pretty impressive, especially with the improved telescopic fork front suspension and the swingarm – monocross rear suspension system. The front suspension has about 130mm travel and the rear suspension 125mm by Yamaha specifications.

The Yamaha bike has both front and rear a single disc brake, for front Front tyre Yamaha uses a 100/80-17 M/C and for the rear wheel it is a 130/70-17 M/C tyre.

All things said I feel good about this 126.5kg bike, if you looking for something else then a scooter or light motorcycle I can surely recommend this little blue speed devil.

BMW has unveiled a fabric-covered roadster that can change its shape at the flick of a switch - and it’s the inspiration for propeller-badged cars both current and future.

BMW has revealed a radical shape-shifting roadster concept that has been the inspiration behind its controversial car designs - and will also influence the German brand’s future vehicles.

The Gina Light Visionary Model is a dramatic-looking two-seater sports car that swaps traditional sheetmetal for a near-seamless, stretchable fabric that can contort into different shapes.

The special waterproof and temperature-resistant “hybrid” fabric is draped over a high-strength metal wire structure that features a series of carbonfibre and steel-mesh struts in various locations. The driver can change the roadster’s exterior design by using switches to activate these electro-hydraulically controlled sections.

The headlights, for example, are hidden until switched on, when the fabric at the front of the car prises apart on either side of the signature double-kidney grille to reveal the double lamps.

Indicator and tail-lights simply shine through the translucent fabric cover.

If the engine needs to be accessed, the bonnet can be unzipped down the middle to create a half-metre-wide gap.

Some body changes are automatic. For improved aerodynamics at higher speeds, the Gina roadster will generate extra downforce by deploying a rear spoiler.

The two-seater research car isn’t just responsible for BMW’s controversial convex-concave (’flame surfacing’) design language on current models. The two-seater’s minimalist interior also led to the polarising iDrive menu controller system.

BMW says iDrive was spawned from one of the Gina’s principles - of “displaying only functions to the driver that are relevant to the individual driving situation”.

The Gina roadster’s steering wheel and instruments are even tucked away to allow the driver easier access. Only once the driver is ensconced do the steering wheel and instruments move outwards and the seat (and headrest) adjust automatically for the optimum driving position.

While pictures and details of the two-seater concept have only just been released, the car actually dates back to 2001 - according to overseas media invited to the car’s unveiling. It’s also reported that the Gina research concept sits on the platform of the Z8 roadster that last graced roads in 2003 (sold only in limited numbers as a left-hand-drive collector’s car in Australia).

The Gina’s shape-shifting exterior can certainly be seen in BMW’s 2001 X Coupe concept car - which debuted designer Chris Bangle’s polarising ‘flame surfacing’ design language - as well as current production models such as the Z4 (most obviously) and 1-Series.

The Gina Light Visionary Model is effectively a concept car behind a concept car. BMW calls it an “object of research”, saying that GINA is an abbreviation for “Geometry and Functions in ‘N’ Adaptions”.

Chris Bangle, talking in a promotional video for the Gina research roadster, says the car exists to encourage thinking outside the box not just about how future cars could look but also how they could be built.

“This [roadster] started a whole chain of ideas in the company [to the point] that Gina became not just a model, a shape, or just [an issue] about cloth as a [vehicle] skin … it became a real thinking process about doing things differently,” says Bangle.

“Does [a car’s outer skin] always have to be made out of metal? Do we always have to make it in the same manner?

“In reality, the aspects of crash [safety], [body] stiffness, and ride and handling capabilities can be handled in a spaceframe-type vehicle without the [metal] skin.

Bangle says the Gina philosophy is about being flexible and also creating a greater emotional bond between car and driver.

“Emotion is really the added function to this [concept],” he says. “Really, we want to achieve a higher emotional plain out of this. Gina should be about the human in the loop.”

The research car has now been wheeled into the BMW Museum in Munich for display, although the company says the guiding principles of Gina will continue to influence BMW’s designs a long way into the future.

For a more realistic guide to the designs of BMWs you’ll see over the next few years, look to the 2007 Concept CS and recently unveiled M1 Homage supercar.
